Upgrading the hop up rubber of your gun can have a drastic effect on your range and consistency; a soft hop up rubber will give you better lift, whilst a thicker hop up rubber will be more consistent. The flat hop was designed to apply more consistent backspin by elongating the contact area. The design of the nub is to occupy the full barrel window, and when paired with a moundless hop up rubber, you get a large contact area to give improved lift.
You can of course apply more hop via the hop up chamber adjustment, however you cannot dial it back. Instead, this is done via BB weight. You will need to use a minimum of 0.25g BB’s (and it is important to note that these travel slower than their lighter weight counterparts, however they will be more stable/consistent).
Flat hop up upgrades do not last as long as R-Hop due to the moundless hop up rubber being the primary lift; this will wear out from friction (as it does on a traditional hop up rubber).
